Several decisions were made at the 2007 SEANC Convention held September 6-8th in Greensboro. All amendments voted on had been discussed all year long. After debate on the floor, the results were as follows.
- Dues of active and retirees were increased $12.00 per year.
- SEANC amended our bylaws to allow us to affiliate with likeminded unions and associations.
- The Insurance Board now has a seat on the SEANC Executive Committee
- Policy Platform discussions will be mandatory at Conventions as directed by the amended bylaws
Also SEANC officers were elected. These are officers on the state level.
- Linda Rouse Sutton was re elected as SEANC president
- Tony Smith was elected as First Vice President
- Pat Reighard was elected as 2nd Vice President
- Art Anthony was elected as SEANC treasury.
- Albertina McGirt was elected to another term on the SEANC Scholarship Foundation
We have already started our new year. Our first business meeting will be held Monday October 15th at the Kernodle Center in Burlington.

SEANC District 17 this year had a little better success in having a Sate Scholarship foundation winner. Virginia Graham was awarded a scholarship by the SEANC Scholarship Foundation in the four year financial category. Miss Graham will receive $1,000.00 for this school year, and will attend the University of North Carolina in Greensboro..... more

The SEANC District 17 Scholarship Committee received a total of 14 applications that met date and qualifications criteria. Nine 4-year merit, three 4-year financial, and one member only application were judged.
At best, we could only win in three categories. There were no scholarship applications submitted for the two-year merit and financial categories. District Judging was conducted Tuesday April 24th at the Greensboro Division office on Yanceyville Street.
